How to update availability and submit for scheduling

Why this matters

Availability data directly affects assignment proposals and schedule quality.

Before you start

Make sure:

  • the target employees are already created
  • the target scheduling period is clear
  • known absences are recorded in time-off

Steps

  1. Open the employee schedule / availability area.
  2. Select the relevant week.
  3. Add or edit availability for each employee who needs updates.
  4. Review conflicts or overlaps before saving.
  5. Save the availability changes.
  6. If your role allows it, use the submit action to validate availabilities for scheduling.

Scope and configuration notes

  • Availability entry is typically done employee by employee.
  • Depending on your role and configuration, you may have a "submit all availabilities" action for the selected period.
  • Import-based bulk availability should be considered organization-specific unless explicitly enabled in your environment.

Best practices

  • Update availability before generating assignment proposals.
  • Keep approved leave and availability as separate data.
  • Review unusual gaps before finalizing the week.

Troubleshooting

Availability looks incomplete

Review whether each required employee was updated and whether the correct date range was used.

Scheduling still shows conflicts

Check whether absences, existing assignments, or time-off records are also affecting the result.
